From the first-ever National Women’s Rights Convention in 1850 to the marriage equality movement, Massachusetts is often among the first states to stand on the right side of history.

Now, state leaders have the opportunity to again pick the right side of history by passing the Safe Communities Act and sending a clear message that immigrants are welcome in Massachusetts, despite the anti-immigrant sentiment that President Trump propagated on the campaign trail, and has reinforced since taking office.
